Spotlight on Custom Jewellery: A Perfect Set!

Today, we're excited to spotlight a recent commission that showcases the magic of custom design: a pair of exquisite earrings crafted to complement an engagement ring we designed the previous year.

The Story Behind the Jewellery Commission

Last year, we had the pleasure of designing a stunning new engagement ring for our clients B and L to celebrate their 25th anniversary . The ring was crafted using diamonds from B's original wedding set and anniversary bands, blending sentimental value into a brand new look for her to wear. This year, they returned to us with a request to create a matching pair of earrings, adding another chapter to their story and a gorgeous new piece to B's jewellery collection!

Designing the Earrings

Concept and Inspiration: The inspiration behind the earrings was to create a piece that would harmoniously complement the engagement ring while standing out as a unique statement on their own. Using the customer's gold and diamonds left after completion of the ring ensured that the earrings would not only match the ring but also carry the emotions and memories tied to the original jewellery.

Materials and Craftsmanship: Crafted in high-polished 14 karat yellow gold, the earrings evoke elegance and a WOW reaction. The choice of yellow gold not only complements the engagement ring but also enhances the brilliance of the diamonds. Designed in a J-hook style with a post and butterfly back, the earrings offer a secure and comfortable fit, perfect for everyday wear or special occassions.

The center stones of the earrings are each 0.50 carat diamonds, with SI2 clarity, H colour, and an excellent cut grading. These diamonds, repurposed from the original wedding set, are the main focal point of the earrings. Eighteen accenting diamonds add a beautiful touch of sparkle and sophistication to each earring, bringing the total diamond weight to an impressive 2.43 carats.

The Final Design: The design is nothing short of breathtaking. The larger center stones are beautifully balanced with the more delicate accenting diamonds, creating a harmonious and eye-catching piece that our client can wear with confidence!
